一、课程简介
《21世纪大学英语》是根据教育部办颁发的《大学英语教学大纲》编写的一套大学英语教材，系统地把听、说、读、写、译五种技能的训练和培养融合在一起，全面提高学生的语言能力。随着改革开放和*加入世界贸易组织，英语作为国际通用语也日益受到重视。许多领域离不开英语。大学英语作为一门必修课，就显得尤为重要。本课程旨在使学生提高英语能力，掌握好这一工具，在实践中更好地使用它。
二、 课程的教学目标及总的教学要求、重点、难点
大学英语的教学目标是:培养学生具有较强的阅读能力和一定的听、说、读、写、译能力，使他们能用英语交流信息。
总的教学要求是:本课程融精读、泛读和听说于一体，围绕精读课文重点培养读、写、译的能力;围绕听说教材主要培养听和说的能力。使学生的词汇量、阅读速度和听力理解速度都能达到大纲的要求。同时，由于我院的大学英语四级考试的通过率一向较高，我们要保证大多数学生能够一次性通过考试，并且能够在实际使用中运用自如。

To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.

词汇：“看典型，找同类”
六级的单词量说多不多，但厚厚的一本单词书背起来也实在费劲。其实可以通过做以前六级考试的卷子来发现常考的话题和词汇。
比如，六级的听力部分涉及的面并不算广，主要就是日常的生活对话，不可能出现很艰涩的词汇，这时候通过集中训练，就能渐渐把握对话的思路，对问题的设置也会有一定概念，不至于在听到某一生词时思路就被一下子打断，错过了下文。在听力的短文理解部分开始前会有一段答题指示，考生可以利用这点时间对下面的问题有个大致把握，从而了解短文主要内容，也可以有的放矢地寻找答案。
词汇部分题量不少，但分值并不算多，做题的时候无须给自己太大压力。我在考试之前曾把以前的十套考卷集中做了一遍，发现词汇部分的重复率很高，甚至有些单词在隔年的考试中又考了一次。这些就是典型考点了，以这些考点为中心，找出相似或易混淆的其他单词（或者就是题目中的其他选项），充分进行理解，不仅能对考题的思路有所把握，自己的部分词汇量也能得到巩固。
